Ghana
Four Yemeni nationals have been hauled before a court in the Ghanaian capital, Accra for allegedly entering Ghana with fake passports and visas.
The four include Esmail Yahya Zeyad aka Evra Allerson, Gaafar Eissa Yahya Amer aka Ciro Carlos, Waleed Ahmed Yahya aka Debuchya Allard – all students – and Eissa Yahya Airier, a businessman.
Their acts, officials say, was to conceal their identities and enter the country illegally.
Presided over by Judge Aboagye Tandoh, they were temporarily charged for forgery.
All four suspects feigned French nationalities in an attempt to beat security personnel at Ghana’s main airport, Kotoka International Airport, officials have said.
The four are said to have entered as far back as November 2015 before the transfer of two Guantanamo Bay detainees to Ghana under a U.S arrangement.
The accused persons were said to be transiting through Ghana and continue to France and then to Turkey.
Officials add that an examination of their Yemeni passport indicated that two of the four, Allerson and Carlos had travelled several times to Djibouti before the Ghana transit.
